Congratulations to Captain Jeff Herring, who has officially earned his Certified Fire Executive (CFE) designation! Earning this certification takes a tremendous amount of time, hard work and dedication, and we’re excited to celebrate this well-deserved accomplishment.

Over 19 years and 228 meetings, Commissioner Moss has watched our community and our fire department grow tremendously.

Congratulations to Firefighter Jesus Garza on successfully completing paramedic school!

May is Wildfire Awareness Month—a good reminder that here in South Texas, it doesn’t take much for a small spark to turn into a fast-moving grass fire.

Whether it’s a pool, lake, or splash pad, water is a big part of summer fun. It’s also one place where we have to stay especially alert.

Summer in South Texas can heat up fast—and kids feel it even faster than we do.

Summer is meant for bikes, backyard time, and being outside with friends and family. With just a little extra awareness, those moments can stay fun and worry-free.
