Community Services

Bexar-Bulverde Fire Department is proud to support our community through a variety of educational and outreach opportunities. We offer fire station tours, school visits, and the appearance of fire apparatus at local events. To help us plan and coordinate these activities, please submit your request as early as possible through the email below.

Station Tours

Our station tours are designed to provide an engaging, educational experience for visitors of all ages. Tours typically include:

  • A firefighter-led discussion on fire safety.
  • A guided walk-through of the station bay.
  • An overview of our fire apparatus, tools, and protective gear.
  • A question-and-answer session.

Tour groups are welcomed from schools, youth organizations, community groups, and families.

School Visits

Each school within Bexar-Bulverde Fire Department response area is encouraged to schedule a Fire Prevention Month visit every October. While October is our primary outreach period, we are happy to schedule school visits at any time throughout the year. School visits are tailored to promote safety awareness and may include:

  • Age-appropriate fire safety presentations.
  • Apparatus show-and-tell.
  • Demonstrations by firefighters.

Our goal is to strengthen safety education in partnership with our local schools.

Community Engagements

Fire department personnel and apparatus may be requested for visits to neighborhood gatherings, churches, daycare facilities, public events, and other community functions. These appearances help build public awareness of safety practices and strengthen relationships between the department and the community we serve.

Smoke Alarm Checks

Maintaining working smoke alarms is one of the most effective ways to protect your family and home.

For residents within our service area, Bexar-Bulverde Fire Department offers complimentary smoke alarm checks. Firefighters will:

  • Test all smoke alarms in the home.
  • Replace older smoke alarms with resident-provided smoke alarms and/or batteries.

Basic Life Support/CPR Classes

The Department also hosts basic life support and CPR classes for groups of 15 or more. For more information, please email us at Outreach@BexarESD3.org.

Please Note:

As an active emergency response agency, our crews may be dispatched at any time. While we make every effort to honor scheduled engagements, firefighters may arrive late, need to leave early, or in some cases be unable to attend due to emergency calls.

Requesting Community Services
